Water testing, because treatment without numbers is guessing
Every good water decision starts with a test: hardness, chlorine, pH, iron, nitrates, arsenic, bacteria. We test at your taps, use certified labs where it matters, and read the results with you in plain English.

What we test and when the lab gets involved
On-site testing covers the workhorses: hardness in grains, chlorine and pH, iron, and total dissolved solids, enough to design softening and filtration with confidence, and you watch it happen at your own kitchen sink. Certified laboratory testing takes over where the stakes rise: bacteria on wells, arsenic anywhere in this basin, nitrates near the old agricultural ground, and lead where pre-1986 plumbing raises the question.
You get the numbers with a plain-English translation, what matters, what does not, and what it costs to fix the ones that matter. Plenty of tests end with us telling you your water is fine, which is a perfectly good outcome for everyone.

How the job goes
Test the actual water
At your taps, with lab panels where stakes are high. The numbers drive everything that follows, never a brochure.
Design the treatment train
Sediment, carbon, softening, RO, or specialty stages, only what your water argues for, with honest annual costs attached.
Install to be serviced
Bypass loops, isolation valves, and labeled stages, so every future filter change takes minutes instead of a service call.
Retest and prove it
Post-install numbers in your hand, and a maintenance schedule that keeps them true. Treatment without proof is faith.
Who should test, honestly
Every private well owner, annually for bacteria and periodically for the chemical panel, because out here the homeowner is the water district. Every buyer of a home with a well, before closing, alongside the plumbing inspection. Anyone about to spend money on treatment, because the test is what stops you from buying the wrong system. And anyone whose water changed, taste, smell, stain, or pressure, because water that changes is water with news.
City customers get honest context too: your district publishes water quality reports, and we will show you how to read yours before recommending anything.
Local knowledge, Victorville out to the Pass
The High Desert aquifer is a patchwork: hard here, arsenic there, nitrates near the old alfalfa ground, sand everywhere the wind owns. Two wells a mile apart can test like different planets, which is exactly why your numbers, not your neighbor’s, drive the design.
Work that pairs with this
Honest scoping, in writing
A customer once called us after another plumber said both the pressure regulator and the ball valve had to be replaced. Ruben looked it over and found only the regulator was bad, so that is all we changed. That is how scoping works here. We show you what failed, give you a firm price for that part, and leave the good parts alone.
A repeat call for the same leak means we missed something. We work so that never happens.
“The team at CH Plumbing are efficient, professional, on time, and we appreciate their hardwork. We use them often for our home plumbing issues. We highly recommend them!”Gina S.
Questions we actually get
What does a water test cost?
On-site testing is inexpensive and frequently folded free into a treatment consultation. Certified lab panels for bacteria, arsenic, or the full well workup are priced firm by panel, and we tell you the number before any sample is pulled.
How long do results take?
On-site results are immediate, you watch them develop at the sink. Lab panels run a few days to a week depending on the tests, and we schedule the review call the day results land.
What should a well owner test for annually?
Bacteria every year as the floor, with hardness, pH, nitrates, and TDS periodically, and arsenic at least once in this basin, then again on any change. We keep it on a calendar for our well customers so it actually happens.
My water tastes and smells fine. Do I still need testing?
The dangerous ones are the polite ones: arsenic, nitrates, and bacteria carry no taste or smell at levels that matter. Fine-tasting well water has surprised plenty of owners on paper. One test settles it.
Will you try to sell me a system after the test?
Only if the numbers argue for one, and we show you the numbers. A good portion of our tests end with no sale and a homeowner who finally knows their water is fine. That honesty is why the referrals come back.
