A lot of Apple Valley water heaters went in the same year their neighborhood did, and now they are quitting on roughly the same schedule. We stock the common sizes, so most tank swaps finish the day you call, and the old one leaves with us.
A whole street of heaters, all the same age
Jess Ranch and the newer golf communities went up in waves, and the water heaters went in with the drywall. So the tank in your garage is probably the same age as the one next door and the one across the street. When a neighbor’s heater gives out, yours is rarely far behind. It is worth having someone look before it picks the day for you.
Apple Valley taps run hard, and heat is what pulls those minerals out of the water. They settle into a layer at the bottom of the tank, the burner has to push heat through it, and the steel underneath works harder than it was built to. The popping you hear when the burner comes on is that layer talking. Out on the well properties the water runs harder still, and tanks there wear out sooner.

The new tank gets strapped against earthquake movement, the flue gets checked for draft, the gas connection gets leak-tested, and the relief line runs where it belongs.
The old one leaves with us
Your old heater goes out on our truck. The closet or garage floor gets cleaned before we call the job finished.
Going tankless takes longer, and we say so up front
A tankless unit makes sense for a household that runs showers back to back, but a conversion is a different job from a tank swap. The venting usually changes. The gas line has to be sized for what a tankless burner pulls at full fire, and the line that fed the old tank often falls short. That adds time, and you hear how much before you commit.
What hard water does to either kind
Scale does not care whether the heater is a tank or a box on the wall. In a tankless unit it builds up inside narrow passages, and hot water flow drops before anything else looks wrong. Either way the heater lasts longer when the water feeding it has been dealt with. If nobody has ever checked yours, water testing in Apple Valley is a smart first step before deciding whether a softener belongs in front of the new heater. Straps, flue and relief line, checked before we leave
A new tank is only as safe as what holds it up and what it vents into. The straps go on snug against the wall, the flue gets watched for a clean draft once the burner lights, and the relief line runs down to where a hot discharge cannot catch anybody standing nearby. None of it is glamorous, and all of it is what an inspector looks at first.

What Apple Valley owners ask before the old tank comes out
How do I know the heater needs replacing and not a repair?
Water pooling under the tank, rusty hot water, or a heater the same age as the dead ones on your street usually means replacement. A failed thermostat or igniter on a younger unit is a repair. We tell you which it is, even when the repair is the smaller job.
If mine quits this morning, is it replaced today?
In most cases, yes. We stock the common sizes, so a morning call usually ends with hot water the same day and the old tank gone. If your heater is an unusual size, we say so on the phone before anyone drives out.
How long does a switch to tankless take?
Longer than a tank swap. The venting usually changes, and the gas line has to be sized for the new burner, which can mean running a bigger line. You get the real timeline and a firm price up front, so nobody is surprised halfway through.
Do you take the old water heater with you?
Yes. The old unit leaves on our truck, and the closet or garage it sat in gets cleaned before we go. Kent wrote that Ruben hauled the old heater off and left the area spotless, and that is the standard on every install.
I rent out a house here. Can you work with my tenant?
All the time. Tell us how to reach the tenant, and we set the visit, do the swap, and keep a record of the work for you. A Google reviewer recommends us especially to landlords, and property owners are a big share of our repeat work.
