A disposal should grind everything reasonable, stay sealed for a decade, and not sound like a rock crusher under your sink. We install and replace disposals matched to how your kitchen actually cooks.
The install that does not leak later
A disposal replacement is a stack of seals, and each one is a future leak if it goes on rushed: the sink flange bedded in fresh putty, the mounting ring torqued evenly, the discharge and trap aligned without strain, the dishwasher inlet knocked out and clamped right. We do the stack correctly and run the unit under load with the cabinet floor dry-checked before we close the doors.
Electrical matters too: cord kits, air switches where there is no wall switch, and the honest word when the outlet under your sink was never wired right to begin with.

A family kitchen that cooks nightly earns three-quarter or one horsepower with stainless internals, which grinds more, jams less, and lives years longer in hard water. How long does a disposal installation take?
Under an hour for a like-for-like swap, a bit more when the flange, trap, or wiring needs correcting, which on older kitchens it often does. Firm price before we start, unit running under load before we leave.
Which disposal should I buy?
For most cooking households, a three-quarter horsepower unit with stainless grind components hits the sweet spot of power, quiet, and lifespan. We stock what we trust and will happily install a unit you bought, with honest commentary.
Do disposals work with septic systems?
Yes, used sensibly, and septic-rated models help. On the rural lots out here we talk honestly about what your tank can handle, because pumping a septic tank early costs more than composting ever will.
Can you add a disposal where there has never been one?
Usually. It needs a power source and a drain configured for it, both solvable in most cabinets. We quote it firm after a look under the sink.
Why is my new disposal louder than my neighbor’s?
Horsepower and insulation. Budget units skip the sound shell entirely. If quiet matters in your kitchen, say so when you call and we will bring the model that murmurs instead of roars.
