Backflow devices keep irrigation water, pool water, and commercial lines from siphoning backward into drinking water. We install, repair, and replace them, and we will not sell you a valve you do not need.
What backflow protection actually does
Your water system is designed to flow one direction. When street pressure drops, a main break, a hydrant opened hard, everything connected to your lines can siphon backward: fertilizer from irrigation, pool chemistry, whatever a commercial process touches. A backflow preventer is the one-way door that makes that impossible, and code requires one on most irrigation systems, commercial services, and fire lines.
We install the right device for the hazard level, pipe it at the correct height with clearances an inspector will bless, and protect it from the freeze snaps that kill exposed brass up here.

Straight answers first
Do I need a backflow preventer on my sprinklers?
Almost certainly, code requires backflow protection on irrigation because fertilizers and soil bacteria must never reach drinking lines. If your system predates the requirement or the device looks improvised, we will assess it honestly.
My backflow device is dripping from the bottom. Broken?
That is the relief valve doing its job, and it usually means a check inside is fouled or worn. Sometimes it is debris we can clean; sometimes internals need replacing. We diagnose before quoting, and we only replace what failed.
Can a freeze destroy a backflow preventer?
Every winter up here proves it: exposed brass bodies crack in hard snaps. Insulated covers, proper winterization, and drain-down where the system allows are cheap compared to replacing the assembly. We handle all three.
Do you replace just the failed part or the whole assembly?
The failed part, when that is the honest fix. Whole-assembly replacement has its place, corroded bodies, obsolete models, but a shop that always lands on the biggest invoice is telling you something. Ruben’s RPV review exists for a reason.
Do commercial properties need testing and paperwork?
Most water districts require certified annual tests on commercial devices. We keep the device itself healthy, coordinate testing requirements, and leave documentation your property file can survive an audit with.
